Piercing & PregnancyCan I get pierced while pregnant or breastfeeding? We do not pierce individuals who are pregnant or within the first three months of breastfeeding. Should I remove my piercings during pregnancy? Navel and nipple jewellery should be removed during pregnancy to prevent rejection. Jewellery can typically be reinserted three months post-delivery, but keep in mind that piercings may close during pregnancy. If this happens, they can often be repierced in the future. Can I wear nipple jewellery while breastfeeding? No. Jewellery should not be worn while breastfeeding as it presents a choking hazard to the baby.
-
Migration & RejectionWhat is piercing migration and rejection? Migration happens when a piercing shifts from its original placement and heals in a new position. Rejection occurs when the body pushes the piercing out completely. What causes migration or rejection? Several factors can contribute to migration or rejection, including: Jewellery quality (low-quality materials may cause irritation) Improper placement (angle and depth matter) External factors (touching your piercing, improper aftercare) Excessive pressure (tight clothing, sleeping on your piercing) If you notice signs of rejection or migration, contact your piercer immediately for guidance.
-
Piercing & Health ConcernsAre infections common? Infections are situational—proper aftercare significantly reduces the risk. While minor irritations or complications are more common, they are often manageable and not necessarily an infection. A true infection requires medical attention. If you're experiencing concerns, regular check-ups with your piercer during the healing process are recommended. Can my health condition affect my piercing? Certain medical conditions and medications can impact piercing suitability. Examples: Heart conditions, heart medications, blood thinners can affect getting a piercing. Diabetes, psoriasis, Accutane, and other conditions may impede or slow down healing. This does not necessarily mean you cannot get a piercing, but we highly recommend speaking with your physician first and informing your piercer before your appointment.
-
Jewellery Issues & AftercareWhat is embedding? Embedding occurs when jewellery sinks into the piercing channel, and the skin begins to grow over it. This is often caused by jewellery being too short for swelling during healing. Other factors include piercing depth, irritation, infection, and other external influences. If you notice signs of embedding, see your piercer immediately. Why is downsizing jewellery important? Longer jewellery is used to accommodate initial swelling after getting a piercing. Once swelling subsides, downsizing helps prevent irritation, reduces movement, and improves healing. Smaller jewellery ensures the piercing is less likely to snag, shift, or cause discomfort. Can I swim after getting a piercing? No! Stagnant water breeds bacteria, and a fresh piercing is an open wound. Avoid soaking or submerging a new piercing for at least 6-8 weeks—no exceptions! Activities such as swimming, hot tubs, and saunas increase risk of infection, so consider this before getting a piercing.
-
Medical ConsiderationsCan I wear jewellery during an MRI? Jewellery can interfere with imaging, so removal is recommended if possible. What if I have skin conditions or metal allergies? Our jewellery is biocompatible, but rare allergic reactions can occur, particularly with titanium or white gold. Most reactions are mistaken for infections or irritations—consult a piercer or doctor before removing jewellery. Will my piercing leave a scar? All piercings leave some degree of scarring after jewellery removal. Excessive movement during healing can increase scar tissue formation. Other types of scarring include keloids and hypertrophic scarring—consult a piercer for treatment options. If scarring persists after jewellery removal, a doctor’s consultation is advised.
-
Preventing Discomfort & IrritationHow can I avoid hurting my piercing? Use piercing pillows or neck pillows while sleeping. Avoid loose-knit fabrics and loofahs that can snag jewellery. Be mindful of your piercing during daily tasks. Avoid picking at or over-cleaning your piercing—it can worsen irritation. What are irritation bumps? Often mistaken for scar tissue, irritation bumps are a type of inflammation, not scarring. These can be managed by removing the irritation (e.g., reducing movement, moisture, or replacing jewellery). What causes irritation bumps? Factors include: Over-cleaning or under-cleaning Jewellery that is too tight or too loose Too much moisture or movement Frequent bumping or excessive pressure
-
Piercing Aftercare & CleaningWhat cleaning products should I use? For healing piercings, use ONLY hot running water or sterile saline to clean the piercing site. For healed piercings, a gentle soap is sufficient for cleaning the area. Can I use numbing agents for a piercing? We do not offer or recommend using numbing agents before getting a piercing. If you have concerns about pain, consult your piercer for guidance. Can I bring my own jewellery? We do not pierce with jewellery from outside our studio. However, we can install jewellery from other stores in healed piercings for a jewellery installation fee.
-
Healing & Changing JewelleryWhat are the stages of piercing healing? Healing occurs in three stages: 1. Inflammation (1-2 months) – Redness, swelling, occasional bleeding/discharge, and tenderness. 2. Cellular Regrowth (2-12 months, depending on piercing type) – Scar tissue growth, reduced tenderness/swelling. The piercing may feel healed but still requires aftercare. 3. Maturation (1+ years) – Considered fully healed. Jewellery can be changed or removed with minimal risk. When can I change my jewellery? Your piercer can swap jewellery for other high-quality options soon after the initial piercing. Most piercings should be fully healed before switching to ring-style jewellery or costume jewellery. Healing time: 6-12+ months for most piercings before switching styles. How many piercings can I get at once? We recommend 2-3 piercings max per session. Healing multiple piercings at once can be challenging, so fewer at a time is best to avoid complications.

-
Are piercing guns safe? No—piercing guns are not a safe method for piercing. Why piercing guns are problematic: Sterility concerns – Guns cannot be properly sterilized between uses, increasing the risk of cross-contamination. Blunt force trauma – Piercing guns push jewellery through tissue using force, causing unnecessary trauma and potential healing issues. Lack of professional training – Many individuals using piercing guns lack formal training, leading to poor procedures and complications. -
How can I prepare for my piercing appointment?Bring photo identification Don’t come in on an empty stomach If under age(under 16) your parent or LEGAL guardian must be present
-
Piercing & PregnancyCan I get pierced while pregnant or breastfeeding?
-
Preparing for Your Piercing AppointmentHow should I prepare for my piercing? Practice personal hygiene. Eat a meal beforehand. Stay hydrated. Wear comfortable clothing. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment. Do not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Bring government-issued photo ID. If under 16, bring a parent or legal guardian. Research your piercing choice to understand how it may impact activities like swimming, headphone use, etc. Can I bring someone with me? We accommodate 1-2 guests in the piercing room. Due to space limitations, we ask you limit additional guests during your appointment.
-
Jewellery & Studio PoliciesWhat is the quality of your jewellery? Our jewellery is implant-grade, biocompatible, and comes with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects. We exclusively use recognizable, reputable brands such as Anatometal, Alchemy Adornment, Canasteel, etc. As well as our own in-house line of solid gold jewellery. Knowing what materials you wear in your piercing is important, and our staff is happy to provide information. Do you offer children’s ear piercings? We pierce earlobes for children aged 7+. For children under 10, a consultation appointment is required before booking the piercing session. The consultation allows the child to meet the piercer and become comfortable in the studio without pressure to proceed immediately. Consultation appointments are free of charge—do not book them through our online platform.
-
Are piercing guns safe? No—piercing guns are not a safe method for piercing. Why piercing guns are problematic: Sterility concerns – Guns cannot be properly sterilized between uses, increasing the risk of cross-contamination. Blunt force trauma – Piercing guns push jewellery through tissue using force, causing unnecessary trauma and potential healing issues. Lack of professional training – Many individuals using piercing guns lack formal training, leading to poor procedures and complications. Jewellery quality concerns – Piercing gun jewellery is often low-quality, increasing risk of irritation and complications during healing.
